OThe Department for Documentation and Information Affairs, popularly called INDOK, is an organizational unit of the State Archives in Pazin (hereinafter: DAPA) who cares for documentation whose contents testify to the history of professional archival affairs DAPA in its more than 50 years of existence, but also for documentation related to cooperation with other institutions and for those contents related to the history of presentation and use of archival material.

The Department of Documentation and Information Works and reading room – the place where archive users, i.e. researchers from different fields, meet the objects of their research.

In the Department, as part of the fund dossier, it is kept Collection of informational aids made in DAPA, but also those information aids taken together with the funds of Istrian provenance from today's State Archives in Rijeka. The collection represents a representative source for the history of the funds from their collection in the archives, the history of the professional work of processing archival material, but also for the history of the development of the profession and the history of the application of archival principles in the daily work of the archives.

All documentation created in DAPA as a result of archival processing and editing of archival funds and collections, the use of archival material and other professional archival affairs is collected, recorded and further processed daily in the Department of Information and Documentation Affairs. Also, the Department processes, records, stores and delivers information aids to funds and collections. In addition to the primary recording and documentation of professional tasks related to archival material under DAPA's care, the tasks of the Department include the collection and processing of data on the publication or use of archival material. Information processing aims to provide preconditions for documentary and professional support in all potential forms of cooperation with other institutions on projects that contribute to the popularization of archival activities.

 

The daily activities of the Department include working with users of the Reading Room, which refers to:

  • reception and registration of users of archival material
  • information, counselling and expert assistance to users of archival material
  • receiving, processing and forwarding for further processing requests for use, issuing information or making copies of archives
  • review of archival material before and after use

 

The Department for Documentation and Information Affairs, in cooperation with other Departments and Departments of DAPA, participates, as appropriate, in the professional, cultural, educational, promotional and scientific activities of DAPA.
