On Wednesday, 18 June 2025, a presentation of the edition of the Pićanska parochial chronicle (1812-1832) was held at the State Archives in Pazin. 
 

The State Archives in Pazin, together with the co-publishers the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Department of Historical and Social Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Rijeka with the Regional Unit in Pula) and the Municipality of Pićan, published a book entitled ‘Picanska parochial chronicle (1812-1832) with an appendix in Croatian language (Pazin 2025), which was produced by dr. h. c. mr. sc. Jakov Jelinčić, PhD Elvis Orbanić and Assoc. prof. dr. sc. Teodora Fonović Cvijanović. The reviewers were academician Stjepan Ćosić, dr. sc. Damir Karbić (Hazu), prof. dr. sc. Lina Pliško (Pula) and prof. dr. sc. Leyla Nakaš (Sarajevo). This is the publication of the manuscript of the parish priest and dean Ivan Antun Težak (1776). 1837), which recorded in Italian the events in the parish important for everyday life and in the context of general history, from the short-lived French government (Illyrian province) to the beginning of the Austrian administration, and in the appendix at the end of the book State of Souls, he wrote in the Croatian language prayers, orders and instructions on Christian life.

In addition to the manuscript transcript, the book has an introductory historiographic note (E. Orbanić), a brief analysis of the Italian or Croatian language of the manuscript at the time (J. Jelinčić, T. Fonović Cvijanović), regestions, i.e. a short summary of the content by year (E. Orbanić) and a biographical guide with the names of all persons mentioned in the manuscript (E. Orbanić).

The presentation of the book was held at the State Archives in Pazin on Wednesday, 18 June 2024, organized by the Archives and the Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts of Rijeka, and the editor of the edition, academician Robert Matijašić and dr. sc. Fonović Cvijanović, who read the commemorative text by dr. sc. Elvis Orbanić, the organizer and employee of the Rijeka Institute, was welcomed by the representatives of the publishers and co-publishers: Director of the Archives Mirela Mrak, director of the Institute for Historical and Social Sciences in the River with the Regional Unit in Pula dr. sc. Sanja Holjevac, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Pićan Dean Močinić.  The publication was presented in Pićan on 10 May 2025, organized by the Municipality of Pićan.
