An expert meeting ‘Istria in the Homeland War’ organised by the Education and Teacher Training Agency and the Croatian Homeland War Memorial and Documentation Centre was opened in Pula.
The aim of the conference is to improve teaching about recent Croatian history and professional development of teachers of history. This year's focus is on the role of Istria in the Homeland War:
✅ Democratic Change of the 1990s
✅ Operation of the 154th Brigade of the Croatian Army
✅ Role of the Pula Airport and Air Base
✅ Displacement of displaced persons and refugees
✅ Brijuni meetings before the Storm

The program includes lectures by prominent historians, testimonies of participants and field classes.

Dr. Sc. Vedran Dukovski, an employee of the State Archives in Pazin, gave a lecture on “Caring for displaced persons and refugees in Istria during the Homeland War”.
