
International Scientific Conference 10. Istrian historical biennale with the theme “Corpus, carnalitas…: on body and physicality in history in the Adriatic area’ will be held on 20-21 May 2021 via the Zoom platform.

The event is co-organised by the State Archives in Pazin, the Regional Museum of the Poreč Region – Museo del territorio parentino, the Department of History and the Centre for Research on the History of the Northern Adriatic Population, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula.
It is one of the few conferences in the region that deals with topics from the history of everyday life and has been held biennially since 2003. Twenty exhibitors from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy will discuss body and physicality in history in the Adriatic area over two days.
At the opening, a collection of papers from the previous meeting entitled ‘Emotio, affectus, sensus: on feelings in history in the Adriatic area’, presented by prof. dr. sc. Ivan Jurković, Prof. Gaetano Benčić and dr. sc. Marija Mogorović Crljenko.
The conference and the proceedings are financially supported by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the County of Istria – Administrative Department for Culture and Heritage, the City of Poreč, the towns and municipalities of the County of Istria.
