The State Archives in Pazin has the honor to invite you to an international conference called Interactive Archives: Digital Challenges & Collaborative Networks, which annually brings together more than 150 Croatian and European experts in the field of digitization, protection of written heritage and archives. The meeting will be held in the House of Croatian Defenders in Pula from 27 to 29 March 2019.
The conference is organized for the fifth year in a row (after Opatija, Dubrovnik, Vukovar and Trogir / Split) by ICARUS Croatia, the consortium ICARUS (International Center for Archival Reaserch), the State Archives in Pazin, the Croatian State Archives and other partners, and for this year's participation more than 170 participants from twenty-three countries applied; prominent experts and representatives of international professional bodies, organisations and projects (DARIAH, AERI, Creative Europe, European Time Machine project…).
Contemporary trends and activities on the topic of digitization and protection of written heritage, development and promotion of cultural networks and current archival and heritage projects and programs throughout Europe will be discussed, with an emphasis on the experiences and possibilities of Croatian institutions and experts in this field and their active inclusion in international practice and professional events.
Considering the number and importance of experts and representatives of international organizations and cultural institutions who will come to Croatia on this occasion, this conference represents a unique opportunity to actively connect and involve local cultural, academic and scientific institutions and heritage experts in international professional trends and EU projects in the field of culture, digitization of cultural heritage and the development of the information society. The conference was advertised and monitored throughout Europe (ICARUS, APEF, ICA, DARIAH, AERI and other institutions and professional associations) and in Croatia through social networks, print and electronic media, professional conferences and meetings.
