Exhibition Life and Work of Vladimir Nazor was set up on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Vladimir Nazor, and in memory of the longtime employee of the State Archives in Pazin, senior librarian, the late Mladenka Hammer. The exhibition consists of 2 parts: panels and exhibits in glass cabinets. Scanned photographs and personal documents were taken from the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU), and the poems and stories in the journals were taken from the NUL.
The panels show the most interesting and important events in Nazor's life, from birth to death. Initial billboards represent Nazor's birthplace of the island of Brac, his baptized mother, parents, sisters and brother. The following panels contain information about his primary and secondary education. He attended elementary school in the villages of Bobovišće and Ložišće, and high school in Split after which he went to study in Graz. The beginnings of his literary work, the first song he wrote at the age of 13, on the occasion of his mother's nameday, are also on display. Nazor begins writing in Croatian a little later, under the pseudonym Kažimir and Vladimir Primorski. His first poem was written in English. My song, written under the pseudonym Vladimir Primorski. Nazor's working life is varied, working in the service of teachers and educators throughout Croatia and beyond (Split, Zadar, Koper, Kastav, Crikvenica, Pazin). Going to Istria influenced Nazor and his literary work greatly. In Istria Nazor writes The Bloody Days, The Blood Shirt, Veli Jož… The newspapers in which the most beautiful Nazor's Istrian stories began to appear for the first time are shown: Croatian Journal describing the book The Blood Shirt, newspapers Balkans who first published Nazor's story Veli Jože. As he tied himself to places and nature, he transformed his deepest emotions into verses, so it arose Song of Istria, published in 1933. With Song of Istria There is also a story Boškarina, which was printed in 1910 and, according to many critics, represents Nazor's best Istrian story. Song Ban Dragonja It was also exhibited, written in Koper in 1906 and composed by Saša Šantel.
On the last panel are presented: Manuscript of one of the most beautiful poems dedicated to the Croatian language Croatian language, written by Nazor in 1942 and his poem dedicated to the island of Brač, a poem Brac, since he was permanently attached to his native Brač roots.
The glass showcases show books from the archives of academician Josip Bratulić. They are extremely important Readings for schools in which Nazor published poems which he later published under his own name. There are also Nazor's works in the showcases The Blood Shirt, The Bloody Days and magazines Young Istranin in which he published stories for children and magazines Modernist i Cyril the Methodist College.
