The Institute of Agriculture and Tourism Poreč presented Charles Darwin’s extremely rare book ‘Carnivorous Plants’ – a German edition from 1876, the only such book in Croatia!
The lecture was held as part of the BOOKtiga event, and the gathered had the opportunity to hear dr. sc. Barbara Sladonja, a biologist at the Institute, who emphasized the scientific significance of this book.
A particularly interesting part of the event was the presentation of the restoration of the book, which was professionally performed by Sanja Šetić and Ana Krstanović from the State Archives in Pazin. They presented the process and methods of conservation and restoration of this valuable edition.
