Prompted by last year's extremely positive experiences and reactions and high public response, the State Archives in Pazin joined the event again this year Night of Museums which was celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2015 throughout Croatia under the official theme Inventions and discoveries – Nikola Tesla, Universal Mind.
Namely Night of Museums the State Archives in Pazin was marked by a commemorative programme consisting of several activities. From 18:00 onwards, every hour Aldo Prenc, Head of the Department for Archival Protection, Restoration and Conservation, presented manual paper making. Visitors thus had the opportunity to see what it looks like and what processes include manual paper making, which was tried to get as close as possible to that made before the invention of the printing press.
This point of the programme was followed up by a workshop making monastic ink according to the old Venetian recipe, carried out by the restorer Sanja Šetić. The workshop presented the stages of creation, i.e. the process of obtaining ink: from the starting raw material – the fringe to the end product – the iron-gal ink.
Furthermore, at 9 p.m. the Great Hall of the Archives screened the film Naked Island by Darko Bavoljak. The film is very documented and realistic about the camp on the island of the same name during the Tito-Stalin conflict, i.e. from 1949 to 1955.
During the evening, a guided tour of the exhibition was organized. Permanent exhibition, author of the archivist Biserka Budicin, head of the department for editing and processing archives. The exhibition was opened in December 2014 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the State Archives in Pazin and represents a selection of the most interesting and most representative archival material stored in the Pazin Archives.
Finally, it should be mentioned that this year, throughout the evening, the occasional sale of the issue of the State Archives in Pazin was held at promotional, reduced prices.
Programme of the event Night of Museums it was held in the Great Hall of the State Archives in Pazin and in the Department of Archival Protection, Restoration and Conservation in the period from 6 p.m. to 24 p.m., and entrance to all programs was free of charge.
