On 8 February 2017 at 6 pm in the State Archives in Pazin, scientific advisor Marino Manin will hold a lecture on the topic of Caves: “modus operandi” for internal use or propaganda “bumerang” in the determination of the western borders of Yugoslavia.

About the trainer:
Scientific Advisor Marino Manin graduated in History and Italian Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, and defended his master's thesis Opportunities in the former Venetian Istria from 1797 to 1805. He received his PhD from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb on Economic Opportunities in Western Istria between 1813 and 1848. (Cathedral of Francis I as a source of land, property, demographic and ethnic relations). He was the director of the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies (2008-2011). He works at the Croatian Institute of History in Zagreb as a researcher. The main area of his scientific research is the history of Istria from the 18th to the 20th century, primarily topics from economic and demographic history. He has published dozens of scientific and professional papers, and has participated in the editorial work of several scientific and scientific-popular journals, as well as in the editing of several proceedings from scientific conferences.
