About the trainer:
Academician Franjo Šanjek (Poljana, 1939), graduated philosophical (Dubrovnik, 1962), obtained a master's degree in theological sciences (Zagreb, 1966) and auxiliary historical sciences (Vatikan, 1968) and a doctoral degree in historical sciences (Paris-Sorbonne, 1971). Since 1971 he has been a professor of ecclesiastical history, methodology and auxiliary historical sciences at the Catholic Faculty of Theology, University of Zagreb. He is also a professor and lecturer at the Croatian Studies and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Since 1997 he has been a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is the President of the Croatian National Committee for Historical Sciences (1992-1999) and the National Committee for Comparative Church History (1995). He is one of the founders and editor-in-chief of the magazine. Croatica christiana periodica. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Contributions for research of Croatian philosophical heritage in Zagreb, Antiquities HAZU (Zagreb) and Works the Institute for Historical Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Zadar). He is a member of the Regional Council for the Humanities (1994), the Parental Commission for Philosophy and Theology (1999) and the Committee for the Annual Award. He teaches as a visiting professor at the Universities of Fribourg (Switzerland) and Ottawa (Canada). He has participated in many scientific conferences in Croatia and abroad. He is an associate of encyclopedic and lexical editions in Croatia, France, Belgium, Germany and Poland.
