8th International Scientific Conference. The Istrian Historical Biennale was held from 11 to 13 May 2017 at the Poreč Heritage Museum in Poreč. The event was co-organised by the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula – Department of Humanities and the State Archives in Pazin.
Topic 8 the Istrian Historical Biennale Artisani et mercatores… about craftsmen and merchants in the Adriatic area.
The opening speeches were greeted by the director of the Poreč Museum, dr. sc. Elena Uljančić-Vekić, Chancellor of the Diocese of Poreč and Pula. Sergije Jelenić, Deputy Mayor of the City of Poreč Nadia Štifanić-Dobrilović, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula dr. sc. Elis Deghenghi Olujić, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Pula dr. sc. Klara Buršić Matijašić and on behalf of the State Archives of Pazin Sebastijan Legović.
The event brought together 21 experts from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Montenegro who presented the results of their research on this year’s topic:Artisanal et mercatores: craftsmen and traders in the Adriatic area’. Each lecture from this year's conference will be presented at the next conference, in two years' time.
