This year's 13th Pazin Book Fair, organized by the City of Pazin and Pazin publishers, will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in the Hall of the Memorial Home starting at 2 p.m. The fair is traditionally held in the Croatian Book Month with the aim of promoting literary production of Pazin publishers and Pazin authors, as well as promoting the importance of reading from an early age and encouraging citizens of Pazin of all ages to socialize with the book. This year's program has special part named ‘Talk about Šiški’, a devoted a true lover of the book Davor Šišović, the founder of the idea of the Fair itself and a longtime collaborator on the realization of the program that left us prematurely.
After the official opening in which students of the music department of Vladimir Nazor Pazin Elementary School will participate, the Fair begins with the presentation of a collection of poems the Society of Persons with Physical Disabilities Pazin Recently published by the Society, it was created on the basis of literary gatherings ‘Poets around a Stone Table’ organised regularly by the Society.
It will also be interesting to introduce the Alarm Youth Center Literary Club from Pazin, as well as the presentation of the Wine & Poetry Festival, more specifically Presentation of winning works from that festival.
Traditionally, it will be presented at the fair and Chair of the Chakavian Parliament for the History of Istria Pazin, this year with Collection of Pazin Memory, books 34 and 35.
Another project will also be presented at the fair Pazin City Library, i.e. book Edo Budiša Award (2012. 21-2021) : our first 10 = Premio Edo Budiša (2012-2021) : and nostri receive dieci.
In the above mentioned a Special Part programme dedicated Recently deceased Davor Šišović Šiški will participate Radenko Sloković, Mirko Grdinić, Zoran Krušvar and Iva Ciceran, with moderation Emine Svilar, who will exchange their memories of cooperation with Šiški in the organization of various projects related to the book, from Jules Verne Day, Istrakon, Fantastic Literature Festival, Writers' House to the Pazin Book Fair itself.
Pazin City Library they will have their activities immediately after the end of the Fair, after 6 p.m. when they will present a picture book The Dream and the Sea, as part of the Croatian Book Month programme.
A book exchange! In addition to presenting publishers and authors, the fair provides space for books offered by the City to citizens as a gift, as well as the space in which citizens can offer to exchange their older read book and those who are still waiting for someone to read them.
