On Saturday 10 May 2025, the book ‘Picanska parochial chronicle (1812)’ was presented at the Istrian Centre for Intangible Culture in Pićan. 1832).  The book contains a transcript of the parish chronicle of Pićan, led by the parish priest Ivan Antun Težak (1776). 1837). The records were written in Italian, chronologically from 1812 to the end of 1832.

Observed geographically, Težak brings data on Pićan, events in the wider area of Pićan, i.e. in Istria as well as in Europe. In the thematic sense, a particularly extensive space gives a description of meteorological conditions and conditions in the agrarian area of Pićanština. The last part of the chronicle contains prayers and religious instruction in the Croatian language of the time. The chronicle is also important because it describes the last years of the Diocese of Pićan.

The transcript was made by Jakov Jelinčić, a historiographical introductory text in the Elvis Orbanić chronicle, and the language of the Croatian part of the chronicle was analyzed by Teodora Fonović Cvijanović. The book also contains a biographical guide on all the people mentioned in the chronicle. This valuable edition for Pićan and Istria was published by the Municipality of Pićan with the State Archives in Pazin and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the highest scientific institution in Croatia.
