From 22nd to 24th May 2025 in the Istrian Parliament in Poreč was held 12. Istrian Historical Biennale, dedicated to ‘Violentia, conflictus, aggressio…: on violence in history in the Adriatic area’. The conference was opened with the presentation of the proceedings from the previous Biennale Artisani et mercatores, which were presented by Urška Bratož, Gaetano Benčić and Marija Mogorović Crljenko. During the three-day program, 20 scientists from Croatia, Slovenia and Spain presented their research on this year's theme, illuminating various forms and contexts of violence in the history of the Adriatic area. Since 2003, the Istrian Historical Biennale has been held biennially in cooperation with the State Archives in Pazin, the Heritage Museum of Poreč and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, with the support of state and local institutions.
