On 13 January 2026, in the hall of the Library of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the promotion of the book Written by Istrian Notaries, Sv. III \u2013 Files of notaries of Pore\u010d, Vol. II. Registers of the Notary of Pore\u010d Antun de Teodoris (January 1449 April 1487), organised by Zoran Ladi\u0107 and Marino Martin\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The idea and basic scientific principles of the work on this project were set by dr. sc. Elvis Orbani\u0107, former director of the State Archives in Pazin, while the project was strongly supported by the current director of the Archive Mirela Mrak Kliman, dipl. iur. Editor-in-chief of the edition Files of Istrian notaries<\/em> is Mirjana Matijevi\u0107-Sokol.<\/p>\n Edition Files of Istrian notaries<\/em> was launched in 2008 with the publication of the first book with transcripts of notarial documents by the Labin notary Bartholomew Gervazi (1525. 1550). The second book of the edition, published in 2018, contains transcripts of registers of Pore\u010d notaries Henrik de Artizanibus and Antun de Teodoris, and contains more than 140 documents, regestions, facsimiles and extensive references.<\/p>\n The book presented at the promotion was printed in 2025 and brings transcripts of the registers of the oldest preserved notary book for the Croatian part of Istria. It was published as the third volume of the edition Files of Istrian Notaries, i.e. the second volume of the Register of the Pore\u010d Notary Antun de Teodoris. The book contains a transcript of 245 documents of various types, including sales contracts, dowry and marriage contracts, procuration and apprenticeship contracts, inventory of goods and other legal files.<\/p>\n A special part of the book is Liber testamentorum, which contains 65 wills of male and female inhabitants of the Pore\u010d commune from different social strata. In the introduction, the authors highlight the exceptional opportunities that all three editions offer for scientific research of the medieval history of Istria, almost all aspects of social, economic, legal, cultural and everyday life.<\/p>\n The third volume is written in Latin and script, partly in the Venetian dialect, considering the paleographic, linguistic and content characteristics of the documents.
