Istrian Historical Biennale (23-25.05.2013.)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The 6th Istrian Historical Biennale, an international scientific conference launched by the Humanist Department of the University of Pula, the Pore\u010d Heritage Museum and the State Archives in Pazin, was opened in the Salon of the Regional Museum of Pore\u010d.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe theme of the 6th Istrian Historical Biennale was <strong>Animalia, bestiae, ferae\u2026: Animals in history in the Adriatic area.<\/strong><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nTwenty historians from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy presented the results of their research on this year's theme. So, through the lectures and the last day, the audience had the opportunity to find out about <span id=\"xClaimOglasId-159708-3\" class=\"xClaimClass\">domestic<\/span> animals and their role in agriculture in the Venetian period, farm animals in the municipality of Piran according to the population census of 1910, gambusia \u2013 a fisherman who \u2018liberated\u2019 Istria from malaria, and animals as a source of research in the history of medicine.
