The scientific conference is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the bishop and national reviver Dr. Juraj Dobrila and the 100th anniversary of the composition of the Istrian anthem Beautiful country, Istro mila<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Juraj Dobrila Bislup, reviver of the Istrian people, enlightener, publicist, representative in the Istrian Parliament and the Imperial Council, businessman, publisher, patron, benefactor, certified philanthropist, initiator of important actions with the idea of awakening national consciousness, simply put exceptional, versatile person, one of the greatest personalities in the history of Istria, was born 200 years ago, on April 16, 1812, in Veli Je\u017eenje. Beautiful country, Istro mila <\/em>Matko Braj\u0161a Ra\u0161an was composed on the text of Dr. Ivan Cukon in Pazin in 1912. The Assembly of the Istrian County, at its session held on September 23, 2002, adopted a decision determining the song Krasna zemljo, Istro mila as the anthem of the Istrian County. The meeting is one of the anniversary programs prepared by the Organizing Committee headed by the Bishop of Pore\u010d and the Diocese of Pula Mons. Dra\u017een Kutle\u0161.<\/p>\n
