Ivana Paula Gortan-Carlin (1968) graduated in musicology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Ljubljana (1994). She completed her postgraduate studies in history at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb (2005) and received her PhD in musicology from the Department of Musicology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Ljubljana with the thesis: Istrian composers at the turn of the 21st century and the role of their music in regional tourism (2012).\u00a0 He works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula.
