He received his PhD from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb on Economic Opportunities in Western Istria between 1813 and 1848. (Cathedral of Francis I as a source of land, property, demographic and ethnic relations). He was the director of the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies (2008-2011). He works at the Croatian Institute of History in Zagreb as a researcher. The main area of his scientific research is the history of Istria from the 18th to the 20th century, primarily topics from economic and demographic history.
