Stipan Trogrli\u0107 was born in Studenci near Imotski in 1952. He finished the Franciscan high school in Sinj. He graduated from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb in 1976. He received his PhD from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. He also graduated from the Catholic Faculty of Theology, University of Zagreb \u2013 Regional Studies in Rijeka. He is the author of scientific articles on relations between the Church and the state in Istria during the 19th and 20th centuries and lectures on church topics from history. He works as the head of the Center for Scientific Research of the Ivo Pilar Institute in Pula from Zagreb and teaches several elective courses at the Department of History, Department of Humanities of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. Autor je znanstvenih \u010dlanaka o odnosima Crkve i dr\u017eave u Istri u tijeku 19. i 20. stolje\u0107a te dr\u017ei predavanja na crkvene teme iz povijesti.
