Luka Ili\u0107 graduated in Protestant Theology and History from the Protestant Theological Faculty in Brussels, received his master's degree from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and his doctoral degree from the Evangelical (Lutheran) Faculty in Philadelphia. He worked as a professor at the Evangelical Theological College in Osijek and as a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for European History in Mainz. He worked as a priest in Zemun, Haddon Heights, New Jersey, for a short time in Rijeka, and is currently employed as a Protestant parish priest (Evangelische Landeskirche in W\u00fcrttemberg) in Ravensburg. He published two books, forty scientific papers and was the assistant editor of the proceedings of the third international scientific conference on Matija Vla\u010di\u0107 Ilirik, held in Labin in 2010. He is a member of the editorial board of two scientific journals: Stati andu stop: Review of Protestantism (Ljubljana) and CRIS: Journal of the Historical Society Kri\u017eevci.
