Owing to historical circumstances, parts of archives which are significant for Istrian history and which complement the archives kept by the State Archives in Pazin, are maintained by other Archives and associated institutions in Croatia and abroad.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>For the period of the Venetian administration over Istria, a part of the valuable holdings is kept by the State Archives of Venice, as well as by archival institutions on both Italian and Croatian coasts of the Adriatic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square; text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the period<em> Venetian Administration<\/em> in Istria, part of the valuable material is located in the State Archives in Venice, and in the archives on the Italian and Croatian Adriatic coast.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">For the area covered by the Pazin County, a part of the valuable holdings is kept by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia and by the Styrian Provincial Archives in Graz.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">For the period of the French Administration in Istria, the important holdings are those belonging to the period of the Kingdom of Italy kept by the State Archives in Milan, and to a lesser degree in Paris.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">The holdings belonging to the period of Illyrian Provinces and relating to the territory of Istria are kept by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia and in several French Archives in Paris(Historical Centre of National Archives, Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defence Historical Service).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"translation-block\">Archives created during the period of the Second Austrian Administration over Istria can be found in the State Archives of Trieste (regional administrative entities) and the Austrian State Archives in Vienna.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the period <em>the Italian Administration<\/em> in the area of Istria, part of the material is kept in the Central State Archives in Rome.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Part of the material created <em>After 1943<\/em>, as well as some of the material from earlier periods, is located in the Croatian State Archives in Zagreb and in the Archives of Serbia (Archives of Yugoslavia).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Archives of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) hold numerous <em>Glagolitic manuscripts from Istria<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Part of the material is kept in the State Archives in Rijeka.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>CROWN ARCHIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Plenty of study materials <em>the Church History <\/em>Istria is kept, both in the Bishops' Archives in Pore\u010d and in the rich parish archives throughout Istria, as well as outside the borders of Croatia in the Bishops' Archives in Trieste, the Secret Vatican Archives and the Vatican Archives of the Congregation for the Propaganda of the Faith.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>BOOKS AND MUSICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square; text-align: left;\">\n<li><em>The Istrian Divorce<\/em>, part <em>the Istrian Revival Champions<\/em> and other documents are kept at the National and University Library in Zagreb.<\/li>\n<li>Part of the material is located in the University Library in Pula, the Historical Museum of Istria and other Istrian museums and institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>PISMOCHRANE<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The material created after 1970 is found in the archives of the creator (or possessor). The same is true of a part of the material from the period of the Second Austrian Administration (e.g. the Municipal Court in Rovinj, the Uljanik Shipyard, the Istrian Waterworks in Buzet, etc.). Part of the material related to Istria, which is of interest for the history of Istria, is kept in libraries, archives and private collections throughout Italy.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some funds that used to be the seat of creators in the area of today's Istria County, include the areas of today's Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Republic of Slovenia.
